So it sounds like we’ll probably see a surge of independent films in theaters this year due to the writers strike. I’ve heard that a lot more films are being bought at Sundance than in previous years as studios scramble to fill their release schedules without writers.
This trailer is a horror film that apparently sold recently at Sundance. I don’t know if it was bought as a theatrical or a straight to video release, but it seems fun and it would be great to see more independent horror films in the theaters. In fact, it would be nice to see more independent films in general. Especially since these would be true independent films that were made and bought by distributors after completion, not simply financed by a major studio but with a smaller budget.
