- Remember that there are currently no real Mac worms or viruses, this current malware threat requires you to actively install it.
- Only install software from reputable sources, such as Apple’s Mac App Store, MacUpdate, or Download.com
- Do not enter your administrator password to approve a software installation unless you know exactly what you are installing and where it came from.
- That said, consider running an antivirus utility from a reputable vendor, such as Sophos. Although there are no known Mac viruses or worms today, that doesn’t mean there won’t be tomorrow. Sophos has a free version for non-commercial use.
